A Virgin Till The Wedding Night
In this day and age, not many expect the woman to be a virgin anymore when they walk down the aisle. Old practices and customs of the past requiring women to remain chaste until they marry has long been seen as discriminatory and reeks of double standards.
However, recently in France, a man seeked to annul his marriage to a woman who had lied that she was a virgin. The court agreed to the annulment because it deemed the lady misrepresented herself when it was clear that the man sees virginity as a pre-requisite to marriage.
Regardless of the religious considerations and undertones in the couple seeking the annulment, this case interests me because it does make me wonder whether men still prefer their women to be virgins these days.
No doubt many men will say that they don’t care with who their wives have slept with in the past. But my own husband has this opinion instead. He said that, sure, men will not harp about their partners not being a virgin and it would certainly not be a deciding factor when it comes to the question of marriage nowadays. But if given a choice, which man would not want his wife to have slept with no other person other than himself? How many men could honestly say that they have no preference whatsoever whether or not their wife have had a multitude of sexual partners in the past?
OK, this comes from an Asian man with a more conservative thinking, so obviously, there is a certain level of unfairness here. But it is certainly interesting to know how others view this issue of virginity. Care to share?

I guess nowadays, for man, if they are not virgin themselves, they won’t mind whether their wife is virgin or not…but, of course if virgin, that’s extra bonus for them……:P
