The Common ‘Shit’
Generally, I’m not the type who curse and swear. So, you won’t find the ‘F’ word coming out from my mouth. I guess this is good because kids pick up things rather quickly and you can bet your last dollar that what you say, especially the bad stuff, will get repeated by them. Considering that I have a 3 year old at home, I certainly have to watch what I say.
But sometimes, well, shit happens, right? So, the ’shit’ word comes out automatically without thinking. To many, the word shit is nothing offensive and people say it all the time. In short, shit is a pretty common word used by all when mishaps and unfavorable situations confront us. It is indeed an effective functional expression.
So, have you taught your pre-schooler this most functional English word and the context of its usage in everyday conversation?

I do find that word offensive. Don’t people have enough vocabulary to choose from to find something better to say?
